dual above ground sewage pump station with bespoke 27,000ltr grp tank
Pre-Construction Services Terminal 5, Heathrow for Carillion When Carillion required a temporary solution for pumping sewage and waste water from their welfare buildings which were located on the newly constructed runway at Heathrow's Terminal 5, they ask Southern Pump Services Engineering to assist on the project. The project started in September 2007 and is scheduled for completion around mid 2011 the main concern was how to pump the sewage without fixing or damaging the runway / surface. Unable to secure down any equipment to the runway Southern Pumps opted for above ground pumping solution on a floating floor. One SPSE2700/DW/2/80/5 above ground pumping station with EMU dry well duty/standby pumps suction and discharge isolation valves, pump non-return valves, discharge pipework with a bespoke six sectional GRP tank 3m³ built-up on site by our four man team, minimising site disturbance. Due to the existing layout of the welfare services there were an additional three Wilo Drainlift L's, three Wilo Drainlift M's waste units all mounted on a floating floor at various locations around the temporary buildings taking care of individual services. Each unit pumping to the main grp sewage tank. The above ground system was manufactured in the UK, delivered to site fully fitted with two EMU FA08.22 dry well pumps all relevant valves, connections, internal cabling control equipment and pipework. From receipt of order to delivery on-site took four weeks. The whole system took just a 3 days to install and commission. With the SPSE above ground pumping station capable of pumping sewage and waste water at 20 litres/second from the entire building over a distance of 300meters with a tank capacity of 27,000 litres.
